Bangladesh

The name of our country is Bangladesh. It became independent in 1971 through a bloody liberation struggle. ((About three million men and women sacrificed their lives for freedom.)) It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with green fields and many trees and plants.Bangladesh is located in the eastern part of South Asia. (((It is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal in the south and borders India and Myanmar, and only India in the west.)))) Its total area including rivers is 147.570 square kilometres.Bangladesh is a small country. But it has a large population. About 180 million people live in this small land. (((The density of the population is high here. About 800 people live per square kilometre.))) Bangladesh is primarily an agricultural country and most of its people are farmers.The capital of this country is Dhaka,Men wear lungi and women wear sharee.There are many festivals like Eid ul fitr,Eid ul Adha,Pahela Baishak,etc 

The soil of Bangladesh is very fertile.So, rice, jute, sugarcane and tea grow in abundance here. Many types of fruits also grow in Bangladesh. Among these, jackfruit, mango, banana, pineapple, guava and watermelon are the most famous.
Bangladesh is called the land of rivers.There are many big and small rivers among them Padma, Meghna, Jamuna,Brahmaputra and Karnaphuli are notable.

There are many poets in Bangladesh. Sufia Kamal, Shamsur Rahman, Kazi Nazrul Islam,Rabindranath thagore, Jashimuddin are famous.
Bangladesh is known as the lovely child of nature. There are many naturally beautiful and interesting places such as  The tea gardens of shylet,, Rangamati,Bandarbon, Sylhet, Cox’s Bazar beach, sundarbon,shat gambuj mosque, etc are most famous.Bangladesh is a country of beauty with so many problems.Poverty,over population, unemployment, environment pollution,  traffic jam,load shedding are the most common problem. The peole are very friendly and hospitable.

P remature marriage is a very common feature in a poor country like Bangladesh. It means the marriage of the boys and girls before attaining their physical and mental maturity. In our country girls particularly poor rural girls are the victims of premature marriage. Unfortunately, the birth of girls is considered unwelcome in our country. They are neglected from their birth. They have to live in a male dominated society. As a result, they are the victims of gender discrimination. They have no 'say' in the family decision.
