ICT in Education in Bangladesh
ICT means Information and Communication Technology. It includes computers, the internet, mobile phones, tablets, and other digital tools. In Bangladesh, ICT is playing an important role in improving education.
Today, many schools, colleges, and universities in Bangladesh are using ICT to teach students. Teachers use multimedia projectors, smart boards, and computers to make lessons easy and interesting. Instead of using only books, students can now watch videos, presentations, and pictures during class. This helps them to understand better.
The government of Bangladesh has taken many steps to improve ICT in education. Under the "Digital Bangladesh" vision, thousands of schools have received computers, internet connections, and multimedia classrooms. There is also training for teachers so they can learn how to use ICT tools properly.
There are many online education platforms like "Shikkhok Batayon," "Kishore Batayon," and "Muktapath" where students and teachers can get free lessons, videos, and quizzes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, online classes became very popular. Students joined classes through Zoom, Google Meet, and YouTube. This helped them to continue learning even when schools were closed.
ICT also helps students in rural areas. With internet and mobile phones, they can attend online classes and learn new things like students in cities. Some schools even use digital attendance systems and online exams.
However, there are some problems too. Not all students have computers or internet at home. Some rural schools do not have good internet or enough computers. We need to fix these problems to make ICT useful for everyone.
