This historical connection inspired the creators of Bluetooth, as the technology’s purpose mirrors Harald’s legacy by facilitating seamless communication between devices. The name was suggested in the 1990s by Jim Kardach, an engineer involved in the development of the technology, during discussions with Scandinavian colleagues. The Bluetooth logo is a combination of Harald’s initials in runic symbols, further tying the technology to its historical roots.
